Who are you? Where are your roots? I'm a nutty, enthusiastic wannabe artist from North Highlands (California), which is a small town without much of the small town mentality. I come from Irish, Scottish and German family lines, but I don't know as much about my ancestor's culture as I'd like.
What were you like in High School? I was part moody artist, part nerd (People liked to try to cheat off my work), and part, well, me. I didn't fall into a set category, and so I got along fairly well with everyone.
What would you consider your muse? Everything around me. Nature, beautiful music (Anything from A Perfect Circle to Enya to Loreena McKennitt), and other people's creations.
What is your favorite medium, and why? I'd have to say pencil right now. When I get the inspiration to draw, the process from imagination to imagery is fascinating to me. I also love to paint, though I'm not very refined at it yet.
Tell me about your artwork, what kind of style are you? Again, I kind of fall into the cracks. My artwork leans varyingly towards anime style, where I started my drawing obsession, but I've since moved on. I've always prefered more of a realistic style, not really into abstract though I love the style itself.
Who do you think your top market is? I'm hoping people who fall into the cracks as well, from 15 to 90, who feel a little whimsical every now and then.
Who is your most favorite and least favorite celebrity? Well if I had to pick, my favorite would be Drew Barrymore. She seems like a real person, and is more shaped like a real woman. My least favorite would be Mel Gibson. He just rubs me the wrong way.
Do you listen to music while you create? If so, which, and who is your favorite?
Oops, answered this earlier. I love everything from heavy metal, to celtic, to instrumental soundtracks and occasionally classical. I don't think I could work in silence, I need music to create.
Other than creating art - what is your favorite hobby?
I love my job- I work at an afterschool program with elementary school children. They inspire me everyday.
What do you believe is essential for an etsy seller? Well, patience for one thing. One can't expect to sell everything the first week. Most of the time it takes a while to get sales going. As long as you persevere and make sure you have quality work, you'll get the sales eventually.
